This morning, a direct Iranian ballistic missile struck Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva, one of Israel’s largest hospitals, which provides vital care to over one million citizens—including Jews, Arabs, Bedouins, and Christians.

The IDF confirmed the attack following a detailed briefing by IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin. This is the first confirmed Iranian missile to directly hit a major civilian medical facility during this escalation.

Brig. Gen. Defrin condemned the strike, calling it part of a pattern of deliberate targeting of civilians by the Iranian regime: “Iran targeting civilian centers with ballistic missiles is no surprise for us. They have been openly declaring their desire to destroy the State of Israel for decades now. These aren’t just words.”

Over the last six days, Iran has launched more than 450 ballistic missiles and hundreds of UAVs into Israeli territory. These attacks are seen as a direct threat not only to Israel but to global security, reinforcing long-standing Israeli warnings about Iran’s regional aggression and nuclear ambitions.

In retaliation, the IDF has intensified its campaign of strategic precision strikes across Iran. These include targeting nuclear weapons development facilities, missile launchers, and other key military infrastructure deemed essential to the regime’s offensive capabilities.

The IDF made it clear that their focus remains on neutralizing existential threats, not retaliating against civilians.

“Iran targets civilians; we target an existential threat that endangers global security. And we will prevail,” said Brig. Gen. Defrin.

As this dangerous escalation unfolds, Israel continues to emphasize that its defensive and offensive actions are focused on protecting its citizens and preventing a nuclear Iran—a goal aligned with the interests of many in the international community.

This extensive operation is part of Operation “Rising Lion,” during which the IDF has already struck over 170 targets and more than 720 military infrastructure components in under 72 hours.

  • In a high-precision operation near Tehran, the Israeli Air Force identified and eliminated surface-to-air missile launch troops just seconds before they reached their launcher south of the capital. The launcher was dismantled, and footage of the real-time elimination and dismantling was released following a statement by IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin.
  • Overnight, the IAF launched several waves of coordinated strikes across Iran, focusing on Isfahan and central military infrastructure. Around 100 military targets were struck, including surface-to-surface missile launchers, missile storage facilities, and command centers where Iranian forces were preparing attacks on Israel.
  • Notably, more than 20 surface-to-surface missiles were destroyed minutes before their scheduled launch toward Israel's home front. One targeted strike eliminated an active missile launch cell in real-time while it was preparing to fire.
  • According to the IDF, more than 120 missile launchers—representing one-third of Iran’s arsenal—have now been destroyed since the beginning of the operation, significantly degrading Iran’s launch capabilities.
  • ⚠ Meanwhile, concerns remain about Hezbollah’s potential entry into the conflict. Although no direct action has been confirmed, official diplomatic channels are pressuring Lebanon to stay neutral, as reported by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.
  • In a related development, Pakistan has closed its border with Iran, a move that may reflect growing regional concern over escalation.

16 Jun 2025 | LiveNow from FOX

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave an exclusive interview on Fox News Channel's Special Report with host Bret Baier, discussing the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.

  • In recent days, Israel has targeted Iran’s Defense Ministry headquarters in Tehran and sites it alleged were associated with Iran’s nuclear program, while Iranian missiles have evaded Israeli air defenses and slammed into buildings deep inside Israel.
  • A U.S. official told The Associated Press that Israel had a "credible" plan to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but President Donald Trump blocked it. The Trump administration reportedly believed Khamenei’s death would inflame a growing conflict between Israel and Iran and potentially destabilize the region.
  • Netanyahu was asked Sunday about the plan on Fox News, but he did not directly address whether the White House rejected the plan. "But I can tell you, I think that we do what we need to do, we’ll do what we need to do. And I think the United States knows what is good for the United States," Netanyahu said.

SUMMARY:

  • ⚠ PM NETANYAHU WARNS OF POTENTIAL REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN FOLLOWING ISRAEL'S STRIKES ON NUCLEAR THREATS
  • In an exclusive interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Special Report (June 16, 2025), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian nuclear targets, emphasizing both the threat and the broader geopolitical stakes.
  • ? Netanyahu stated that Iran was “weeks away” from building nuclear weapons and confirmed Israel took decisive action. “We blocked Iran’s path to a nuclear weapon,” he declared, describing the preemptive strikes as necessary to protect the world from an existential threat.
  • ❗He warned that if Iran acquires nuclear weapons, it would destabilize the Middle East and beyond. “This is a fanatical regime... You give them nuclear weapons, they could make good on their fantasies,” Netanyahu cautioned.
  • Reflecting on global silence prior to the attack, Netanyahu said: “No one was going to do anything. I had to act.”
  • ⚔ He also dismissed speculation that Israel’s military response would be short-term or limited. “This is not a one-time action. It’s a continued effort to prevent a genocidal regime from acquiring the means to execute its goals,” he said.
  • ? Netanyahu noted that the Iranian regime’s internal legitimacy is declining, and its population is increasingly frustrated. He suggested that strong external pressure—especially over the nuclear issue—could hasten regime change. “Pressure has an effect. And ultimately, regimes like this collapse.”
  • ? He reaffirmed that Israel does not seek war but will not tolerate existential threats. “Israel will do what it must to defend itself. Always.”

?WAR ESTIMATE - It is estimated that the Iran attacks tonight may be more massive and for a longer period of time. Prepare for potentially longer stays in the protected space.

  • Iranian Tasnim News Agency: Iranian attack on Israel will begin in two hours
  • Specific threats against Dimona, Ben Gurion airport, Haifa bay ports, the Hadera power plan, and Ashkelon gas terminal.
  • Since the beginning of the attack in Iran: 499 injured have been admitted to hospitals - the vast majority minor injuries and have been discharged (9 moderate to serious, 3 fatalities).

♦ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN - IDF Spokesperson: Our planes are completing a wave of strikes against the nuclear program in the heart of Iran.

We destroyed the underground site in western Iran where there were dozens of missiles. Iran planned a barrage of hundreds of missiles.

❗PM SAYS - Netanyahu confirms that the two attempts to assassinate Trump were led by Iran. Netanyahu also revealed that Iran planned to immediately transfer atomic bombs as soon as they were ready to its proxy terrorist organizations (such as the Houthis).

❗TRUMP SAYS - “For those people who say they want peace, you can’t have peace if Iran has a nuclear weapon. So for all of those wonderful people who don’t want to do anything about Iran having a nuclear weapon, that’s not peace.”

❗FLEEING? Several reports from Iran state that many Iranian senior officials fled to Moscow, and tracked a private jet leaving the northeast of the country.

On May 16, 2025, the Israeli Air Force launched a precision strike on Houthi-controlled ports in Yemen.

The targets: Hodeidah and Salif---critical hubs in Iran's regional weapons smuggling network. Using F-15I Ra'am strike fighters armed with a mix of standoff missiles and guided bombs, Israel neutralized port infrastructure linked to Iranian resupply operations.

This video breaks down the operation system by system, showing how Israeli pilots leveraged advanced targeting pods, radar mapping, and bunker-busting munitions to deliver pinpoint strikes from hundreds of kilometers away. We'll take you inside the cockpits, sensor feeds, and weapons systems used to shut these ports down.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to President Donald Trump's comments after a meeting at the White House meeting got heated on Friday.

Zelenskyy spoke to Brett Baier.

    • It is important to take an objective view at this matter.

Here is a response in support of Zelenskyy's...

      Author: Peter N. Bouckaert

As I am in Ukraine at the moment, I would just like to correct a few lies from the Zelensky/Trump meeting based on my work here in Ukraine—Trump and Vance you are welcome to come visit although I doubt you have the courage to do so.
      1. Zelensky showed up in military fatigues as he has done at every international meeting since day one of the 2022 Russian invasion—the second Russian invasion of Ukraine since 2014—to show his solidarity with the Ukrainian soldiers risking their lives to defend Ukraine, and to emphasize he is the leader of a country at war. I didn’t see any similar objections to the non-elected immigrant racist white supremacist Elon Musk showing up repeatedly in the White House in a T-shirt and baseball cap which he didn’t even remove—it is a standard sign of respect to leadership to remove your hat—so don’t lecture Zelensky on how to dress.
      2. Zelensky is not a dictator and he is not an unpopular leader who is unable to mobilize his people. I have spent many nights and days in the last few weeks with soldiers heading to the frontlines and talking to them, and none of them have tried to refuse to serve and they were heading into the battle with determination and courage—I salute them and respect them deeply.
      3. Ukraine and Zelensky doesn’t have to thank the U.S. or Trump—the U.S. and Trump need to thank Ukraine and Zelensky. This is for two reasons.
First of all, Ukraine gave up the third-largest nuclear arsenal in the world voluntarily at the end of the USSR under the Budapest accords guaranteed by the U.S., UK, and Russia, giving up several trillion of dollars of nuclear weapons in return for security guarantees for its territorial integrity which Russia has violated and the U.S., UK and EU vowed to protect. If Ukraine had kept its nuclear weapons, it would have been one of the most nuclear armed countries in the world and Russia would have never invaded. We, the West, committed to defend Ukraine in exchange for its denuclearization so there is no need for Ukraine to thank the U.S. for keeping its promises.
Secondly, Ukraine is defending not just its own territorial integrity but the future of Europe. I have been interviewing people from the Russian-occupied territories the last few weeks and they really do live in a Stalinist prison camp that is unbelievably oppressive. This is what Putin wants to bring to much of Europe and we need to stop him in Ukraine to save our own democratic future, at any price (respecting human rights).
In was in Chechnya 25 years ago documenting the same Russian abuses, together at the same hotel with the murdered Anna Polikovskaya, the murdered Natalia Estemirova, and Memorial’s Oleg Orlov who was imprisoned in February 2024 for “discrediting the Russian military” and later released in a prisoner exchange.
The difference in 1999-2000 is that we could operate in Russia, under the watchful eye of the FSB (the current KGB). The FSB were staying at the same hotel as us, the ACCA in Ingushetia, and one night I found a few cigarette butts on the floor of my room just to let me know they were watching us. Buy we could go to Moscow, Human Rights Watch had a staff and office in Moscow, and do our work despite the dangers.
Since the Russian invasion of 2022 (and long before that), that limited space for activism and civil society has closed down in Russia. There are no more independent journalists or human rights groups operating in Russia and the HRW office has long closed down, and Anna and Natalia and Nemtsov and so many others were simply murdered by Putin. Yet this is what Trump embraces instead of the freedom-loving Ukrainian people, and he has refrained of any criticism of the murderous dictator Putin, instead trying to humiliate the freedom-fighting Zelensky. But Zelensky isn’t humiliated, he stands proud and strong because you cannot be humiliated by people you don’t respect.
Shame on you, you twice impeached and felon convicted orange wanna be. You and your republican supplicants do not deserve our respect—I won’t even spell republicans with a capital R because they don’t deserve that honorific. Shame on you betrayers of our American Values.

New York Post: 1 Mar 2025

President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky verbally sparred in a fiery Oval Office exchange Friday.

      • The high-stakes visit went off the rails shortly after Vice President JD Vance leaned into Zelensky for seeming to slight his American counterparts.
      • Vance said it was “disrespectful for Zelensky to come into the Oval Office, litigating in front of the American media,” according to a pool report.
      • Trump then raised his voice, telling Zelensky, “you’re not really in a good position right now.”“You’re gambling with WWIII,” the American president said.
      • “Have you said thank you once?” the vice president chimed in.

        • What a calm, insightful reply by Ken Rooney.

Many of you probably watched what took place between Donald Trump and Zelenskyy tonight. Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, you might be thinking to yourself, Oh my God, Donald Trump just screwed up.
However, as a lifelong practitioner of combat ( 20 yr veteran ) ( 18yrs Diplomatic Security Services for the US State Department in both Iraq and Afghanistan ) let me explain the difference between what you believe you witnessed and what actually happened.
Donald Trump has been under constant political persecution since the beginning of his first term. Over time, he has learned to be patient and calculated.
Tonight, Zelenskyy was invited to the Oval Office. However, both Trump and JD Vance knew exactly what Zelenskyy was going to do—he would use this opportunity, in front of the American people, to make a power play. Both Trump and Vance anticipated this.
When Zelenskyy began appealing to the emotions of the American people, JD Vance stepped in, accusing him of disrespecting Donald Trump. This was brilliant strategy. It’s important to understand that Zelenskyy is trying to gain access to NATO.
Trump knew this but could not allow it to happen. If Ukraine joins NATO, the U.S. would be bound by NATO’s collective defense agreement—an attack on one is an attack on all.
Now consider the larger implications: Ukraine and Russia despise each other. If Ukraine were to become a NATO member, any future skirmish between them would obligate the U.S. to enter into direct conflict with Russia. This would mean World War III. And if that happened, China would have to choose a side—they would almost certainly align with Russia.
So what you witnessed tonight was a setup. Trump and JD Vance knew that the only way to achieve peace was to strategically align, at least on the surface, with Russia. Why? Because Russia would never sign a peace treaty if Ukraine were admitted into NATO.
This is why Trump dismantled Zelenskyy’s argument. And when Zelenskyy, seeing his play failing, tried to backtrack and offer a treaty, Trump refused.
Zelenskyy’s real intent was clear—he would not agree to peace unless security guarantees were in place. But what was he actually saying? That NATO must accept Ukraine. However, Russia would never agree to peace, knowing that NATO, their historical adversary, would surround them.
Zelenskyy, Putin, and Trump all knew this. Zelenskyy, thinking he had Democratic support, believed he could make this bold move on live television. But Trump and Vance saw right through it and outmaneuvered him.
They knew that, in the short term, Democrats and the media would try to use this moment against them. But they also knew they had two years before midterms to prove their strategy was the right one. So they held their ground—brilliantly so.
Now, Zelenskyy will have no choice but to back down and accept Trump's terms. But here’s the genius part—Trump is actually protecting Ukraine without dragging the U.S. into war.
By negotiating a mineral deal, Trump ensures that Americans will be involved in Ukraine’s mining industry. This prevents Russia from launching an invasion, because attacking Ukraine would mean endangering American lives—something that would force the U.S. to respond.
Trump played both sides like a master chess player. In the end, Zelenskyy will have no choice but to concede, because without U.S. support, Ukraine cannot win a prolonged war against Russia. And once U.S. companies have mining operations in Ukraine, Putin will be unable to attack without triggering massive international consequences.
Don’t underestimate Donald Trump. In this game of chess, he’s 10 moves ahead of everyone.

U.S. B-52 Bombers Deployed in Response?

On February 20, 2025, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted two major B-52 bomber missions over the Middle East, signaling military readiness against potential threats. These nuclear-capable bombers, escorted by fighter jets from an undisclosed regional ally, demonstrate U.S. deterrence efforts in response to Iran’s growing uranium stockpile. (Source: U.S. CENTCOM, February 26, 2025)
Escalation or Deterrence? – With tensions rising, the B-52 bomber presence signals the U.S. commitment to preventing a nuclear-armed Iran. While diplomatic options remain, the bomber deployments indicate that any Iranian move toward nuclear weapons could face serious consequences. (Source: U.S. Department of Defense, February 2025)
Is Iran Already Nuclear-Capable? – While experts doubt Iran has completed a working nuclear device, concerns persist. If Tehran secretly began weaponization a year ago, it could theoretically have an operational device now. The IAEA remains deeply concerned about Iran’s lack of transparency and inspection restrictions, leaving open a slim but alarming possibility that weaponization is already underway.
